Hi I am Tara. I am a wife, mother, and photographer living in the great state of Iowa. No, I am not a farmer, nor have I ever been a farmer, but do drive 20 minutes through the country to get to a big city. I love simple things. I try to be as green as I can. I love to be artsy and crafty when my busy schedule allows.
I am married to the love of my life, Dan, and we have been married for 7 years. I guess you can say we were high school sweeties even know he is 4 years older than me. Together we have our son, Caedan, who we just adore. Recently, we found out some heart breaking news about Caedan. In Oct 2011, he was diagnosed with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. It was a hard blow for us, but we are learning to take things one day at a time, and to appreciate life as it happens.
I created this blog because, well I want to blog. I have wanted to create a blog for sometime now. I first wanted to blog when I was pregnant with Caedan, then I wanted to blog when he was born. Then when I started this business or that business, which all were epic fails. Finally, I have found some time and freedom to truly blog how I have wanted to. I decided to create The Wandering Mom to capture all my thoughts and emotions that my family and I will be going though as we battle DMD, while TTC (1.5 years on that roller coaster), and sharing life in general with the public. Things I like, things I don’t like, and all that is in between.
